At Village Tavern, we are presently working on our Patio Snacks Menu and plan to include a Peel and Eat Shrimp which is cooked in Beer and Old Bay and served with Cocktail sauce. Here’s the recipe to make at home. Enjoy!

PEEL AND EAT SHRIMP
(6 to 8 Servings)

INGREDIENTS

2 LBS.                         Shrimp, 16-20, shell-on, head-off

24 OZ. VOL.               Full Bodied Beer

2 ½ CUPS                  Water

2 Tablespoons          Old Bay Seasoning

2 Tablespoons          Garlic, minced

2 Tablespoons          Cajun Seasoning

PROCEDURE

1.    Wash shrimp with cold water and drain.

2.    In a large pot, pour beer and water. Add Old Bay Seasoning, cover and blast heat up high.

3.    When it boils rapidly, add the shrimp. Cover again and cook for 3 to 3 1/2 minutes or until shrimp turns pink and the flesh opaque. Stir occasionally for even cooking.

4.    Immediately add 3 quarts of ice on the pot to chill them down and to stop cooking. Drain.

5.    In a mixing bowl, combine mixed garlic and Old Bay seasoning. Toss the shrimp evenly with the seasonings.

6. Garnish with a lemon half and parsely spring. (Optional)

7. Serve with Cocktail Sauce.
